Neurosurgeon, MHSI Michigan Head & Spine Institute, PC
Chief of Neurosurgery, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital

Dr. Nida is a board-certified, recently re-certified neurosurgeon, and has been treating patients in Southeast Michigan for 15 years and has a broad range of experience.

He is active in the teaching of both general and neurosurgical residents. His expertise is in the management of complex spinal problems involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar-sacral areas.

Evaluation always starts with a thorough history and examination, state-of-the-art imaging, and when necessary, the application of advanced spinal surgical techniques (microscopic and minimally-invasive). Pain from vertebral osteoporotic or pathological fractures has been successfully minimized with Kyphoplasty. Many problems can be managed non-surgically and Dr. Nida always places highest priority on improving patient quality of life and function. His research interests included traumatic brain injury, which resulted in many scientific presentations and publications.
