Dr. Qahwash specializes in brain and spine disorders. He has a special interest in cerebrovascular disease and is currently completing a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery under Dr. Richard D. Fessler.

Research experiences include surgical decompression in degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis, multicentric gliomas, and the decompressive hemicraniectomy.  He has presented on recurrent herniation following minimal access discectomy at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and staged coiling of unruptured intracranial aneurysms at the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
