Michigan Head and Spine Institute Newsletters

Each quarter, the physicians of Michigan Head and Spine Institute provide a newsletter containing the latest news and updates on the practice and practices and research in Neurosurgery and Physiatry. If you're not receiving our e-newsletters yet, sign up today!

stewartA big welcome to Carrie Stewart, M.D. who joined Michigan Head and Spine Institute in December. She specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also called Physiatry.

Dr. Stewart offers patients her expertise in non-interventional spine care and pain management office procedures, including trigger point injections and peripheral joint injections as well as electrodiagnostic studies. She enjoys treating patients with acute radiculopathies, chronic back or neck pain, hypermobility, arthritis, peripheral neuropathy, sports injuries and occupational or auto injuries.

Last year we launched an online patient satisfaction survey.  If you were treated during a specific month, and provided your email address when registering you should have received our request to complete this brief survey.

Every day, Kim knows that she can help one more patient. Not as a care giver, although she’s also a medical assistant, but as the coordinator of the phone call center and the front desk team. Her goal is quite simple “to help any way I can to accommodate MHSI patients get their questions answered and appointments scheduled.” Each week, the phone team answers 3,000 calls, scheduling appointments for 23 doctors, 3 physician assistants and 2 nurse practitioners.

Welcome to John Marshall M.D., Interventional Physiatrist, who recently joined our Physiatry team.  He comes to MHSI from a multi-specialty group in North Carolina where he provided non-surgical care for injuries and disorders of muscles, nerves and joints, including care for the spine.  He has special interest in treatment for sports injuries.  Prior to his time in North Carolina, he spent 20 years working in the tri-cities region of East Tennessee, and attended the Univeristy of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky.  [View Dr. Marshall’s video profile]

iStock 000013393243SmallOur physicians and staff would like to know what you thought about your last visit.  Each month, patients who have an appointment and who have provided their email address will receive an email to request they complete a brief survey.  Your feedback is important to us so that we can make improvements where needed.  We do take your feedback seriously.

The results of the survey are compiled so your identity is never revealed, unless you tell us to share something specific. If you do want to share your experience with other patients, tell us that too.

Patients sharing their medical stories can be very helpful and informative to individuals who are looking for a physician to care for them. If you would like to help others by sharing your medical story, we want to hear from you. It’s simple, click on this link to provide a little information, then expect a member of our marketing team to contact you with more details how your story will be shared.  See some of the current stories patients have shared click here.

When the email hits your INBOX, we hope that you will take a few minutes to click on the link to tell us about your experience, how we did and where we can improve.
